About Winslow
The Winslow Institute was established in Meridian, Idaho, out of a deeply felt need to support the unique, often misunderstood social and emotional journeys of gifted and twice-exceptional (2e) children and their families. Founded by specialized professionals, including Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor Wanda B. Bouchard—a SENG (Supporting Emotional Needs of the Gifted) recognized practitioner—alongside veteran exceptional child educator Lonnie Taylor, the institute came to be as a dedicated, strengths-based sanctuary. Recognizing that traditional parenting and educational frameworks frequently fail to account for the asynchronous development, intense anxiety, and perfectionism common in high-ability minds, they built the institute to bridge the gap between academic label and emotional well-being. Today, through tailored parent-child coaching, targeted anxiety programs like “Worrier to Warrior,” and collaborative community spaces, the Winslow Institute empowers exceptional children and their parents to navigate their unique developmental challenges and genuinely flourish.
